Craft, Celebration and Community

Messy salt doughIt was great to see over 80 children and adults join in with our Messy Church: Good Friday event at Whiteley Community Centre this Holy Week. With all sorts of activities going on there was plenty of opportunity to explore the Easter story in a new light. From making newspaper Palms to wave during the telling of Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to planting seeds of new life and making an Easter Garden ready for Easter Sunday.

We crafted loaves of bread and cups from salt dough to represent the Last Supper which Christ shared with his disciples and washed our feet after printing our footprints in paint.

Messy FeetWith a time of celebration and song it was great to come together and share lunch, catch up, meet and make new friends in our community.

Many thanks to all those who organised, helped run crafts, set up and packed away and of course many thanks to everyone who turned up and enjoyed all the activities! Our next Messy Church event will be on June 30th – pop it in your diaries now!
